CRINGE – REALITY – ESCAPISM – ANTI – MESCHUGGE – 09.11.2024

Inspired by various historical events on November 9th in Germany and the ongoing societal changes surrounding November 9th, 2024, urbanpresents and Cream seized the opportunity to highlight this momentous date. While Cream worked with spray cans and paint, urbanpresents used his camera to document the process. The result is a series of atmospheric photos capturing the creation of a text-based artwork, centered around the five letters C.R.E.A.M.

In the explicit message *CRINGE – REALITY – ESCAPISM – ANTI – MESCHUGGE*, C.R.E.A.M. expresses his bewilderment and alienation from the mindset of many of his fellow citizens in Germany, across Europe, and in other parts of the world. This collaboration merges photography with aerosol art to engage with the past while celebrating the relevance of artistic appropriation in the present.

The joint session became an experience that underscores the connection between history and personal frustration. Through the combination of photographic documentation and artistic rebellion, they created a statement piece that reflects both memories of the past and the perplexity over the human-made tragedy of our present.
