The solo exhibition “Sign of Life (Lebenszeichen)“, by sculptor and performer Thomas Bratzke aka ZASD presents a selection of drawings and sculptures that primarily testify an examination of the constant of change. Together, they represent a collection of deliberately formed, existential new beginnings and represent ZASD’s prevailing search for an image yet to be discovered, embodying the temporal infinity of a moment that is not influenced by the past nor the future.
ZASD’s scripts were envisioned a long time ago and stand here alongside current works. Arising from the roots of handwriting, the “manus”, and the calligraphic gesture of the dancing lines of “gestus”, his written and drawn works on paper penetrate space through a manipulation of surface.
His sculptures made out of geometric pieces of ceramics form a space, which he in turn paints, labels and therein “christens”.

Curated by Katia Hermann.
