“Z Common Ground” Project in Munich

, by Bart Van Kersavond

Laim is located just outside the center of Munich, formerly known as the “railway district”, today it is largely a residential area. A 4000m2 “playground” with works by Urban Art artists – most of them from Munich – can be admired in the industrial yards until June 2, 2019. In order to make neighbors aware of the project, the outer walls were first painted with murals and graffiti pieces. Then the artists took care of the interiors and designed each room. Besides the exhibition space, the program is very diversified: dance, performances, skate workshops, as well as fitness.
A big compliment to the organizers and artists who put a lot of effort and heart and soul into this temporary art project. A guided tour before the demolition of the building is worth it.
