Jardin Rouge 2018 – Marrakesh

, by Bart Van Kersavond

Impressions from the visit at Jardin Rouge 4 June, 2018

The Jardin Rouge has become almost like a home. For the past four years I have been organizing an appointment for the day of my arrival in Marrakech. When I arrive I get introduced to the new artists, employees and current projects. Despite the variety of projects, the Jardin Rouge remains a peaceful oasis where everyone takes some time to have a chat and talk about their works. This time there were two artists on site:

David Mesguich is part of the XXL # 2 Montresso exhibition. Originally, he applied for the game developer study, after being rejected, he remained true to the 3D design and now designs his fantastic polygon sculptures. As a graffiti artist, he is known with the name “user” and has already left many traces.

Antonin Giverne (Katre) has an affinity for abandoned buildings and has already published the book hors du temps – urbex book on this subject. Also in Marrakech he came across the Montresso Foundation on many great abandoned places. He works on the resulting black and white photographs in his fine and individual style.
