hendrik beikirch exhibition “tracing morocco”, jardin rouge – marrakesch

, by Bart Van Kersavond

the montresso foundation presents the project “tracing morocco” in cooperation with hendrik beikirch, dedicated to Moroccan craftsmen and their expertise – which will probably soon be lost. hendrik beikirch paints his models meticulously – both on canvas and as large-scale wall paintings – so that his portraits are like stories from real life.

the artist has regularly visited the jardin rouge since june 2014 and painted 22 portraits there. he has also been touring the world, immortalizing portraits on large walls. his work can be seen – and marveled at – in new york, rome, copenhagen, oslo, murmansk, toulouse, naestved and playa del carmen. in 2016, casablanca, paris and moscow will be added to the line-up.

the exhibition “tracing morocco” will be on display in jardin rouge from december 5th to January 17th.
the accompanying book will be presented within this context on december 5th.
